Frankie Rocks

Oh My Goodness! I was checking out some other blogs and found this adorable Frankenstein card on Dawn's blog. Go check it out for instructions and a rockin' video. It was originally made by Kathy Alt, who shared it with Dawn at the recent Stampin' Up! Convention. Here's my version of it. I changed it up a tiny bit, but it's pretty much the same as hers.

Because of the bolts on his neck, he wouldn't fit in a standard card-sized envelope. So, you'd need a larger envelope, or a smaller card. Stamp club members, interested in making this in October?

A Bunch of BS

What's a bunch of BS? A bunch of pieces cut out with my fabulous Big Shot, of course! I love the cute little envelope template which you could also use to hold little cards on packages or journaling in a scrapbook page. The flowers that embellish the envelope are also cut out with the Big Shot. The "rick rack" is from my new Scallop Border punch.

Even More Upsy Daisy!

If you thought you could escape from another Upsy Daisy post, you were wrong! This card was really easy to make. The white layer, is made with the 'ole Big Shot again. Notice the Filigree brad with the Rhinestone center on the left. These beautiful brads are another new accessory in the Fall/Winter catalog. Although they come with silver brads for the center, this card needed some bling.

I promise to move on to another stamp set soon.

More Upsy Daisy

Another card using the wonderful Upsy Daisy stamp set and watercolor wash technique. The designer paper is Urban Garden, which I keep accidentally calling Urban Legend. LOL My black StazOn pad needed re-inking, but the gray color goes just fine with the Basic Gray flowers in the paper. And, yes, another layer using the Big Shot. I actually cut around the perforated edge of the Basic Gray layer and put it on the Not Quite Navy layer. It wasn't as hard as I'd thought it might be.

Have a great day!

I'm Still Here!!!

In spite of my hopes that this would be a relaxing summer and that I'd get a lot of stamping and blogging done, that hasn't happened. It has been FUN and REWARDING though, so no major complaints I guess. There's a break from swim team for a few weeks, so hopefully I'll be home more.

The samples below are made with some of the stamps that are 15% off through September 30th. Both use Pumpkin Pie and the new In-Color "Riding Hood Red."
For the first one, I used the Pocket Silhouettes stamp set. The designer paper is the new Washington Apple paper, which has nothing to do with apples, and the colors aren't all that apple-like, but I like it anyway :-) The cardstock is Pumpkin Pie, Riding Hood Red, So Saffron and Shimmery White. The half-frame behind the main image is from my brand-new Big Shot which will be available to customers on September 2. More about that another day.

This second card uses one of my favorite new sets called Upsy Daisy. I'm really enjoying the silhouette style of stamps. There are so many techniques you can use with them. For example, on this one I used the Rock 'n Roll technique. The Pumpkin Pie label is punched out with the new Curly Label punch and the two Riding Hood Red flowers are cut with my Big Shot. It's not easy to see, but I stippled the white cardstock with Bordering Blue, 'cuz it was just too stark.

That's it for now. Until next time, Happy Stamping!

The New Catalog is here!

Oh boy, the new Fall/Winter catalog is finally here. It is full of marvelous new stamp sets, designer papers that you want to wrap yourself up in and other amazing goodies.

You can get a copy from me for $5 or get it free by hosting a workshop, joining a stamp club or ordering $75+. Right now the online version is a pdf so it takes 100 years to download it. SU says that they're in the process of changing that to go along with our new online ordering system.
Stay tuned!
