Card Buffet Sample #3

If you join me for Saturday's CARD BUFFET, this is one of the cards you might make. At the Card Buffet, you can make as many of each card as you like until the supplies are gone. Then the project gets replaced with a new one. There will be several stations to work at, so there will be lots of different projects to choose from. This card uses the retiring Wild Rose stamp set. It's such a beautiful set! I'll miss demonstrating with it.

Card Buffet Sample #2

Here's today's sample of a card we'll be making at Saturday's CARD BUFFET. It uses the Block Party stamp set. You can make this into a birthday card, as shown, or a thank you card. Making the image straight is a snap with a Stamp-a-ma-jig.

For more details on the CARD BUFFET, please see the post on June 24.

Card Buffet Sample

If you're attending my Card Buffet on Saturday, here's one of the cards you might make. I'll be posting card buffet sample cards every day from now through Friday so you can see what your options might be.

What's a Card Buffet? I'm glad you asked :-)

At the CARD BUFFET, you pay $5 to get in the door and then $1-2 for each card that you make (depending on the supplies used in the card - most will be $1). At each station you can make as many of each card as you like. If you don't like the card at a specific station, you don't have to make it. Once the supplies for that card are gone, I replace the project with a new one.

Each of the projects will feature one of the retiring stamp sets so you can decide what you NEED to order before it is gone forever.

This event is Open House style, so come and stamp when it is convenient for you between 10 am and 3 pm.

****Please bring your own adhesive. All other stamping supplies will be provided.****

The MYSTERY HOSTESS part of this means that I will be giving away all of the fantastic hostess benefits that Stampin Up! offers including limited edition hostess-only stamp sets and free merchandise.

Everyone who attends will have their name entered into the drawing to win some of the hostess benefits. You get additional tickets for the following:
* Bring an adult guest who has not stamped with me before (must also RSVP) - 2 tickets
* Bring a food item to donate to Hopelink - 1 ticket
* Place an order for $25+ or more -1 ticket for every $25 of merchandise that you order
Even if you can not attend, if you call or email me an order on or before June 28, you will be entered to win prizes. Everyone who places an order will get a bag of card samples.

I will have light snacks available. You are welcome to bring a lunch and use my fridge and microwave if needed.

Please RSVP by phone or email

Now for the details of the cards. I used the Polka Dots and Paisley stamp set (retiring August 10th -- boo-hoo!), Blue Bayou, Real Red and So Saffron Cardstock and ink. Blue Bayou ribbon and Antique Brass Hodgepodge Hardware.

Thanks for looking.

New Product Line -- Decor Elements!

Oh my goodness! Yesterday Stampin' Up! announced a new product line called Decor Elements. Our Décor Elements product line is an extension of our Definitely Decorative home décor line. Décor Elements is vinyl artwork for walls, mirrors, windows, or other hard, smooth surfaces. Through our product development, we've been able to achieve intricate designs because of our manufacturing process. Whether you want to spice up the walls of your house or frame a piece for display, Décor Elements is easy to apply, easy to love, and easy to remove. I am so excited about this new offering!
My mind is buzzing with possibilities. Stay tuned for pictures when my pre-order arrives and for upcoming classes using these for framed art.

Edited to add: Oops, apparently I wasn't supposed to post the link yet. I'll let you see the link on July 1 when it's publicly available.

SU Announces Retiring Stamp Sets

It's time to say "good-bye" to some of our favorite stamp sets. After years of dedicated service, the following stamp sets from the Spring-Summer Collection 2008 are retiring. So, let's give them a big sendoff and wish them all the best as they begin a new chapter in their lives. But don't wait too long--they're only available through August 10, 2008, and then they're headed to warmer climes! You can view the list of retiring stamp sets by clicking here.

Cool Dude

Stampin' Up!'s So Cool rubber stamp set is so much fun. It's great for scrapbooking and for cards for boys.

This card could be used for a birthday, thank you or congratulations card. The color palette is based on the Jersey Shore designer paper. It's Brilliant Blue, Pumpkin Pie and Wild Wasabi. I used my Coluzzle circle cutter to cut out the two circles.

Thanks for stopping by. Happy Stamping!

Same Card, Different Colors

Becky Fleck has great card and scrapbook layouts on each month. Why re-invent the wheel? And it's free! You can find the June card maps here. I used one of the card layouts for the two cards below. Both use Stampin' Up!'s Fresh Cuts rubber stamp set (on special this month).

The card above uses Brocade Blue, Sage Shadow and Cameo Coral. I used the white gel pen to add the dots. The card below uses Basic Black, River Rock and Very Vanilla. I used the Zig Painty pen to add the gold dots in the center of the flowers and on the scalloped border. I hadn't used my Zig pen for a while and I'm glad I unburied it again. It stinks a bit, but it's worth it.

To make the scalloped edge, I used my slit punch. It's super easy to make a border using it.

That's all for now. Thanks for stopping by.

Inspired by Shoes

In general, I'm a tennis shoes or flip-flops kind of gal. But, for some reason, I recently felt the need to go shoe shopping and this is one of the cute pairs that I got.

Now, in all honesty, I haven't worn them yet, but they're cute, right? The colors inspired this card made with Stampin' Up!'s new Fresh Cut set. The colors are Groovy Guava, Real Red, Wild Wasabi and Basic Black. I hadn't noticed the Brocade Blue in the shoes. My next attempt will incorporate that too.

You never know when inspiration will strike. So, look in your closet and get inspired!

This is a sample of a card and envelope that I made. Love, love, love these laser-cut notecards!

You can make notecards in a snap with these laser-cut cards. I put a layer of designer paper behind the opening and sandwiched a flower that I'd punched out with the 5-petal punch between it. Then a simple Flower Fusion flower and brad, a little stamping and I was done. Of course, there had to be a coordinating envelope.
Stay tuned for more samples.

Rub-ons on Ribbon

This was my first attempt at putting rub-ons on ribbon and it definitely won't be the last. It looks so cool! The ribbon is 5/8" grosgrain, which is the perfect width for this border. I liked the way it looked with Stampin' Up!'s Paisley Background stamp and the True Friend flower (I punched out the center of it). In real life, this card has a lot of texture. And, it's one of my favorite color combinations: Real Red, Basic Black and Whisper White. I wear that color combination a lot too :-)
